Whoa! Don’t get too excited. I’m not back in any meaningful way yet. I just want to share with you this fabulicious little post from an equally delightinated artist, writer, blogger, and friend. I met her while teaching a 5-week writing class I’m offering as fundraiser for my local library. You’ll be meeting her in a little while when I interview her good and proper.
Recently I took a writing class with Lorna Lee. Dam* good class and I was sorry for it to end. So I decided to shamelessly promote Lorna’s books and interview her in a selfish attempt to continue gleaning pearls of wisdom about writing and living a creative life. Or if not pearls of wisdom at least more marshmallows of gooey good fun. Plus it will provide me with more stuff to illustrate. So this post is a ticklish teaser of the good things to come when you least expect it. Tee hee!
Here’s a photo of Lorna’s book “How was I supposed to know?” alongside my coffee cup.
You can get your own copy of Lorna Lee’s book on Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Lorna-Lee/e/B00B0XIP1M/ref=ntt_dp_epwbk_0
I’ve no idea where you can find a coffee cup like mine. Good luck with that.

Hey, Lorna–my prompt over at dVerse today is for humor poetry. I would love to see you try it–your humor is the best and, perhaps, therapeutic. When you are up to it, would you want to do a review of my last novel on your blog? No pressure, but I told you I would tell you when I could do it.
Oct 16, 2015 @ 18:20:44
Got your book and can’t wait to get to it in my TBR. I did move it closer to the top! 🙂

Better to say, “I didn’t know you were teaching a writing class,” but not to worry, the other way sounds more intriguing! I thought of doing it as a way to raise money for my local library, get to know the community, and keep me busy. It has done all three ! These are short workshops (5 weeks, one 2-hour class a week), but they still sap my energy big time. I love doing them–I’m such a teacher at heart–but I need to not do them for a while. If you know what I mean… 😉
Oct 15, 2015 @ 01:45:12
I didn’t know you were doing writing teaching (doing writing teaching – is that proper grammar? I don’t think so. I need lessons from you). Nice to see you! 🙂
Oct 14, 2015 @ 19:33:41

So good!
Oct 14, 2015 @ 17:57:44
Well Lorna, it sounds like you made quite an impression on Sue…just like you have on the rest of us. Happy to see you out and about. xoxo
Oct 14, 2015 @ 16:13:40
Yes, I can feel it returning. My instinct is to hide away when I feel low. But I think the best thing for me is to stay among the energetic, positive people who I’ve come to know around here!
Oct 14, 2015 @ 15:20:48
Well at least you have one enthusiastic fan, Lorna. Do you think you’ll get your sparkle back now? Love the cartoon. You both look so cute. 🙂
Oct 14, 2015 @ 15:19:23
We’re conspiring to do a children’s book featuring some of my nearest and dearest past animal friends. Go figure. Life is full of surprises. 🙂

Oct 13, 2015 @ 18:42:27
Back at you, Sue! 🙂
Oct 13, 2015 @ 18:42:06
Yup. It’s the third class I’ve offered to benefit the library. I’m collecting the essays the participants write to eventually publish an anthology (which will also be used as a fundraiser). Pouring this kind of energy into my new community is one of the reasons I pooped out and had to take a break from blogging. This is the last week of this third class–no more classes until April or May, so I’ll have time to recharge. 🙂
Oct 13, 2015 @ 18:39:04
Sue’s too kind, Dawne. We are having fun, though. And I’ve learned a bit about writing and publishing through the years . 😉
Oct 13, 2015 @ 17:36:53
How fun! I didn’t know you were teaching writing!
Oct 13, 2015 @ 17:26:59
Thanks for the Lorna update, Sue. Love the drawing!!!
Lorna, I want to take a class by you and get pearls of wisdom in real life, not just through cyberspace.
Oct 13, 2015 @ 16:57:05
What fun! Wahooo!! I’m honored to have met you. Looking forward to more fun with you! Thanks again
