Another noun, People. But a fun one...
It means any movie, play, book or the like that is designed to provoke a tearful response.
Where did the word come from? Blame the 1960's. It appeared in that infamous decade (along with hippies, the mini-skirt, and The Twilight Zone). But I don't think any of those are related. Its root word, suds, entered English meaning "dregs" or, perhaps, "flood water."
So I don't think if your book is called a sudser, it's a compliment. Just a guess...
Have fun weaving this word in your normal conversations today! You're so very welcome!
